This past weekend I attended the ConnectiCon multi-genre geek convention in Hartford. It was my first time there, and I had a blast. The highlight for me was attending two writing workshop/panels with authors from WordFire Press. To summarize: I learned a lot from them and came out with renewed inspiration and passion for writing.
Unfortunately, it also made for a rather miserable return to the “real world” and the drudgery of being a 9-5 drone. I found myself thinking, “I’m so over the name tag and uniform life. I want to be Josh Vogt when I grow up!”
So I’m working, and searching for work. If I’m serious about wanting to be a writer, this is the time to be writing. I’m back in the game.
If anyone has any advice or resources they would like to share, please comment. Learning is one of my favorite things, and I can’t get enough of it.
